Galerie Thomas Fischer was founded in Berlin in 2011 with a focus on contemporary art at the intersection of concept, materiality, and perception.
The program features artists from around the world. These artists all share an interest in contemplating vision itself, exploring light, time, the body, and the conditions under which images come into being and have an impact.
In their work, the artists represented by the gallery move between rigorous conceptualization and sensory immediacy, between a documentary motivation and abstract formal reduction. Many of the works shown by the gallery come from long-term, serial projects in which repetition and variation are taken seriously as artistic strategies.
Thomas Fischer’s program is conceived as an ongoing conversation—across generations and across media. Not only does he maintain long-term relationships with his artists, with solo and group exhibitions, art fairs, editions, and publications, he also collaborates regularly with institutional partners.
